Charles Wesley. Inspiration to many!
I’ve had the privilege to co write with a few different people recently. One particular person is a good friend Jonathan Green. He is a great songwriter/author and friend. Here is a link to his website and a song we have both written together titled ‘Your will be done’. He has also written a prayer book called ‘Fractal Beauty’. You can get hold of it through his website.
So here we are! Four weeks in New Zealand has flown by and now we are settled back home in the UK. For myself it has been a time of exploring and discovering what this beautiful country has to offer. For my wife it is a place of past memories and to be with family again. There are many things I could say about the places we have been to from Volcanic landscapes in Roturua and Lake Taupo to the lush green rainforests of the Waitakere ranges and not forgetting the beautiful beaches of the north Island. It is all very breathtaking and beautiful. There is something about the great outdoors, which can make you feel small and insignificant within such a wide open space. There is a perspective that can be gained by being in such a place. This feeling of insignificance can stir up feelings of your life not really counting for much in the grand scheme of things. But as we have visited this beautiful country my perspective has changed to a sense of comfort and assurance in the knowledge that there is someone who created all this world who is responsible for making it tick over so to speak. Creation itself seems so intricate in the way everything is held in balance such as the way the earth spews up vast amounts of lava, which then benefits the surrounding earth systems such as the atmosphere and distribution of land. Utterly amazing!!
New Zealand is a great country to visit and experience different landscapes. For myself it provoked thoughts of the passage found in Romans 1 v 20, which says, ‘since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature have been already seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse’. I faithfull believe that this is to be true as I cannot think of anything else that could create such a masterpeice. I struggle to believe in chance as my recent visit to New Zealand has demonstrated this for me. So whether you feel we are a result of mass collisions caused by random chance, maybe consider the beautiful world we live in and how intricate it is and if you ever get the opportunity to visit New Zealand then go for it.
Enjoying our NZ trip. Great evening watching the chinese lanterns over Oneroa Bay, Waiheke Island.
